Frame Echo.

Leave fading copies of earlier frames behind moving things.

Drag to compare. Left: the original clip. Right: the same clip through frame.echo, rendered by the app.

What does it do?

Frame Echo layers earlier frames over the current one, so anything that moves leaves ghost copies and afterimages behind it.

Creative ideas

  • Ghost-like trails on dance footage.
  • Dreamy motion for slow shots.
  • Stack many echoes for a strobe effect.

How to use it

  1. Open the Effects tab.
  2. Under VIDEO FX, click frame.echo.
  3. Set how many echoes, how far apart and how fast they fade.

Level: easy. Undo anything with ⌘Z.

Example preset

  • frame.echo — count 10, spacing 4, decay 0.8

Render notes

More spacing spreads the echoes further back in time. Rendered on demo footage: a hand reaching into the frame.
