Ink Bleed.

Let the dark areas spread like wet ink with ragged edges and drips.

Drag to compare. Left: the original clip. Right: the same clip through ink.bleed, rendered by the app.

What does it do?

Ink Bleed grows the dark parts of the image as ink on paper: spread, roughness, grain, gravity (drips), wetness and persistence over time, with the ink colour of your choice and the option to keep the image under it. This demo uses the default settings.

Creative ideas

  • A hand-printed, zine-like video.
  • Drips that follow gravity on a slow shot.
  • Keep the image and add the ink as a texture.

How to use it

  1. Open the Effects tab.
  2. In the left rail, under VIDEO FX, click ink.bleed.
  3. Raise spread and wetness; add gravity for drips.

Level: medium. Undo anything with ⌘Z.

Render notes

Ink builds up over time: the look changes along the clip. Rendered on demo footage: a silhouette against a pale sky.
