Edge Map.
Keep only the contours: neon lines, drawings or a displacement source.
Drag to compare. Left: the original clip. Right: the same clip through edge.map, rendered by the app.
What does it do?
Edge Map finds the outlines of the image on the GPU and draws them as lines — clean white strokes, neon glow or a sketch — with threshold, thickness, detail, colour and glow. This demo uses the default settings.
Creative ideas
- A line-drawing version of a performance.
- Neon outlines over a dark grade.
- Blend the edges back over the original for a sharp graphic look.
How to use it
- Open the Effects tab.
- In the left rail, under VIDEO FX, click edge.map.
- Lower the threshold for more lines; add glow or colour.
Level: easy. Undo anything with ⌘Z.
Example preset
