Emboss Relief.

Press the picture into paper or metal, lit from one side.

Drag to compare. Left: the original clip. Right: the same clip through emboss.relief, rendered by the app.

What does it do?

Emboss Relief turns brightness into a bas-relief lit by a directional light: depth, light angle, threshold, softness and a metallic finish. This demo uses the default settings (paper-like relief).

Creative ideas

  • An object-like, sculpted look for portraits.
  • A metallic title sequence background.
  • Combine with a film look for a printed-plate feel.

How to use it

  1. Open the Effects tab.
  2. In the left rail, under VIDEO FX, click emboss.relief.
  3. Change the light angle and depth; push metallic for a chrome look.

Level: easy. Undo anything with ⌘Z.
