Texture Mosaic.

Rebuild the image from procedural patterns.

Drag to compare. Left: the original clip. Right: the same clip through texture.mosaic, rendered by the app.

What does it do?

Texture Mosaic redraws each cell of the picture with a pattern chosen by its brightness: pattern set, mapping, threshold, rotation, jitter, and ink / paper colours or the original colours. This demo uses the default settings.

Creative ideas

  • A textile or print texture on a portrait.
  • Two-colour ink and paper for a poster look.
  • Large cells for an abstract, graphic image.

How to use it

  1. Open the Effects tab.
  2. In the left rail, under VIDEO FX, click texture.mosaic.
  3. Pick a pattern set and cell size; set ink and paper colours.

Level: medium. Undo anything with ⌘Z.
