Voronoi Fracture.

Crack the picture into glass shards that explode and rebuild.

Drag to compare. Left: the original clip. Right: the same clip through voronoi.fracture, rendered by the app.

What does it do?

Voronoi Fracture cuts the frame into Voronoi cells — like broken glass — then fractures, explodes, rotates and rebuilds them. Cells, fracture, explosion, rotation, reconstruction and seed are adjustable. This demo uses the default settings.

Creative ideas

  • A glass-burst transition between two shots.
  • Thin cracks only, with a small fracture.
  • Animate explosion on a drum hit.

How to use it

  1. Open the Effects tab.
  2. In the left rail, under VIDEO FX, click voronoi.fracture.
  3. Set the number of cells; animate fracture or explosion.

Level: medium. Undo anything with ⌘Z.
